Hi everyone. Yes, I know its been a long time since I’ve written a post on this blog. But I am back and itching to tell you about what’s been going on.
Bill and I took a long deserved vacation to Italy last September. We toured Venice, Florence, Rome, Sorrento and the Amalfi coast. It was wonderful and we came back with a bunch of ideas and recipes that we are incorporating at the Inn.
Weddings were a focal point at the Inn in 2014. We hosted 7 weddings, each one as different as the next. I have really honed my skills as a wedding officiant and was privileged to officiate at 6 of the weddings here as well as 2 other weddings at another location.
We’ve added another hen house to accommodate our ever growing brood of fowl. As of April 6th we now have 60 chickens, and 18 ducks and geese. They are exploding with eggs after a winter of not producing at all. And of course our guests are benefiting by having fresh eggs daily for breakfast in our beautiful dining room.
We have also started the plans for an expanded organic garden. One of our friends, Lou, has offered to help us set up a garden that the guests can go into and enjoy all the delectable veggies and flowers that we will be growing there. The plant will be grown in raised beds and we will be incorporating all organic growing methods from organic soil to organic seeds. There will be no pesticides used at all. So now our guests will be able to eat healthier than ever.
There have been lots of requests for dinner at the Inn by our guests who stay with us. We will be offering dinner to parties of 4 or more for special occasions like anniversaries or birthdays or just a cozy dinner for those who don’t want to venture far from the Inn. Requests for dinner must be made in advance. Prices are subject to menu choices.
Now that I am back in the swing of things, I will be posting a new recipe every month. So be on the lookout for not only breakfast items but other delicious offerings as well I will also be posting some of the menus that we will be serving for those who have dinner with us.
So….Welcome back to our blog. Hope you enjoy hearing about what’s going on and please feel free to comment on the content or just say hello.
Hope to see you all soon.
